Micah Tipler is an innovative force in design and architecture for hospitality and residential developments. Her turnkey, ‘outside the box’ approach to large scale projects has garnered fast paced growth for her US business. Micah is Founder & Principal of Monarch & Maker, a luxury design and remodeling firm. Monarch & Maker, is a premier hospitality and residential firm in the city of Houston and is touted as one of the top 5 in Texas.

Micah’s diverse portfolio showcasing her skills and big picture mentality has cemented her stellar design reputation. The depth of her skill and expertise began by designing and renovating historic properties and luxury office spaces in the UK, then spanning to hospitality, commercial, private member golf resorts and refined residential projects in the US and the Bahamas.

Raised in the UAE, Europe, and Southeast Asia, Micah draws on her extensive multi-cultural experiences for design expertise, product sourcing, and procurement to deliver projects with a globally diverse approach. She received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Manchester Metropolitan University in England in 2002 and 2006, respectively. This experience of living, studying, and working internationally has honed her global design aesthetic.

As Founder and Former Principal of TIPLER Design, Micah was recognized for her excellence in design and in business. In 2017, she received the Network of Women in Hospitality (NEWH) Top Interior Designer Award. She was also recognized for her ongoing work as the lead residential and commercial designer at Bluejack National Golf Course in Montgomery, Texas. Bluejack National, Tiger Woods’ first US course design, was voted “Best New Private Course” by Sports Illustrated / Golf Magazine in 2016. Micah’s design, The Fort at Bluejack National was awarded Golf Inc. Magazine’s 2019 “Amenity of the Year.”

As a savvy businesswoman, Micah has enjoyed the award-winning success of several business ventures, most notably Crimson Design Associates. Crimson was awarded Best of Houzz for Service and Design for the last 5 years, Top 30 of Houston Business Journal’s Fast 100 for 2018, Greater Houston Builder’s Association Prism Award First Runner-Up for Best Residential Design in 2017, and multiple other industry awards and recognitions. Micah’s team of talented designers, architects, project managers, procurement and construction professionals handle all aspects of design projects across several office and showroom locations.

Of all her accomplishments, Micah is most proud of her three teenaged sons. Their sense of adventure and love of travel, theatre and sports are an endless source of inspiration. Micah is dedicated to building a business that provides excellence for her family, her team and her clients. This constant pursuit is the driving force to create cutting-edge design for years to come.

Aimee MARLING

VP & Design Director

Aimee has firmly established herself as a skilled interior designer with an excellent eye for balancing aesthetics and function with a refined flair. She effortlessly demonstrates her attention to detail in her designs, documentation, and client communications.

In her early years with Crimson Design Associates, she gained exposure to not only every facet of the design industry itself, but extended beyond designing and leapt into project estimating, construction management, and product procurement. Her broad range of knowledge provides critical insight to illuminate every step of the process and to alleviate client stress regardless of the project scope of work.

As project volumes increased and the team grew, her focus shifted to increasing company buying power and instituting the most efficient procurement processes. Aimee coordinated the development of relationships with premier suppliers of furniture, finishes, lighting, etc. She continually assesses the Monarch & Maker product offering to ensure that it exceeds client expectations.

In her current role, she spearheads high-profile projects, manages the design team and serves as an invaluable member of the executive leadership team. She believes that as every client has their own story to share, each design should be created with thoughtful precision showcasing a space uniquely reflective of the client’s life, needs, and aspirations. Her consistent dedication and innate finesse for luxury ensures that all projects are executed to the highest standard.

Since joining the team in 2011, she has been involved in over $50M worth of projects spanning the globe. The accrued experience in residential, hospitality, and commercial design has led to her comprehensive understanding of the industry and high level of expertise in project coordination and documentation compliance. Her design acumen, follow through, and leadership have been instrumental to Monarch & Maker’s success.
